Staff Awards 2017

The Welsh Ambulance Service has launched its annual Staff Awards – and the public are being invited to nominate for the first time.

Every year the Trust holds a ceremony to recognise those individuals with long service and good conduct, and celebrate the fantastic work taking place within the service.

As well as those traditional long service and good conduct awards, there are category awards aligned to the Trust’s behaviours including for Personal Excellence, Working Together and Inspiring Others.

The Trust welcomes nominations from everyone, including staff, volunteers, patients, members of the public and partners.

If you are a patient, then the Patient’s Choice Award – new for 2017 – will be your opportunity to say a special thank you to the individual or team who helped you.

Chief Executive Tracy Myhill said: “We could not function as an ambulance service if it were not for our staff and volunteers, so it’s really important that we celebrate their contribution.

“Awards ceremonies are a wonderful way to recognise the sterling efforts of our colleagues who demonstrate overwhelming commitment and do a great job for the people of Wales, every day.

“A fabulous evening was had by all at last year’s ceremony in Cardiff, our first ever all-Wales ceremony, and we’d like thank colleagues for their valuable feedback after the event.

“We’ve been working behind the scenes for many months now to ensure this year’s awards are as streamlined as possible, and that the ceremony itself is bigger and better than before.

“As ever, I’m so inspired by the excellent service we provide across all aspects of our work and throughout the whole organisation, and I can’t wait to see this reflected in this year’s submissions.”

There are 10 categories in which to nominate, including:

Working Together Award
Taking Ownership Award
Personal Excellence Award
Valuing Difference Award
