Welsh Ambulance Service to host Board meeting

22nd November 2021

THE Welsh Ambulance Service will host its bi-monthly Board meeting this week.

The Trust’s Executive and Non-Executive Directors will convene on Thursday 25 November in-person – socially distanced – for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Proceedings will be broadcast live, and members of the public are invited to virtually attend.

An NHS 111 Wales nurse will share her reflections of working through a pandemic, and there will also be discussion about hospital handover delays following recent reports by the Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives.

The audience will also get to hear how the Trust is progressing against its medium-term plans, including about the mammoth recruitment drive currently underway.

Chair Martin Woodford said: “Openness and transparency is important to us as a public service.

“It’s why anyone can attend our Board meetings and hear first-hand how we’re navigating the issues affecting the entire health and social care system, as well as about our ambitious plans for the future.

“We looking forward to seeing as many stakeholders and members of the public as possible.”

The Board meeting is from 9.30am-1.00pm, and the link to register for a place is: https://bit.ly/3xb31md

You can also pre-submit a question for the Board by emailing AMB_AskUs@wales.nhs.uk by no later than Wednesday 24 November, and members will endeavour to answer these during the course of proceedings.

A full agenda will be available on the Trust’s website in the coming days.
